Home delivery of fresh and organic foods meet a real need for busy people and families. We hope this list of providers is helpful and that you will use the comments to add your favorites. We originally had 7 but just added 3 new services that we are excited about.
Austin, San Antonio, San Marcos, New Braunfels, Lakeway, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Buda, Kyle, Georgetown in Texas.
Greenling started in Austin and now serves many surrounding communities. Customers can setup an account online and shop for items they want and schedule delivery. One thing we really like about this service is it goes beyond the typical model of fresh delivery to offer more choice.

Suburban Organics delivers a variety of fresh organic fruits and veggies straight to your door. The contents will change every week based on the freshest arrivals from their organic farms. They also allow you to make substitutions and add extra items to your weekly menu and ensure that you only receive the produce that you want!

Service area: New York City and New Jersey areas
Service: Urban Organic buys their food in bulk from farmers and wholesalers, all is certified organic. You can opt-out based of certain choices based on your preferences and they post a weekly menu of avaialable produce. The food is delivered in difernt size boxes (Little Box*, Value Box, Extra-Value Box, Juicing Box) . In addition to fruits and vegetables they also offer organic groceries, soy products, herbs and spices, dairy products, desserts and more.
Delivery area: The site does not specify but farm is Northeast of San Francisco. They have a zip search to see if delivery is available and sign up to be notified when it does become available.
Service: Farm Fresh to you has a great story which we encourage you to read here. Farm Fresh to You is the CSA for Capay Organic in Capay CA. You choose the service, and can customize it through your online account. Delivery day depends on your zipcode. They have a great variety of choices from small to large mixing fruits and vegetables.
Service area: Colorado, the Kansas City area, Michigan, and the Chicago area
Service: Choose weekly or bi-weekly deliveries of fruit, veggie or mixed boxes. This service offers FREE delivery in almost all locations they serve. You can have "complete control of your weekly orders online." In addition door to door offers produce adn grocery items that you can add to your order through their online shop.
Service area: Boston area
Service: Boston Organics delivers fresh organic produce to customers each week. They support local farms, local businesses, and fair-trade practices. At the end of each week they distribute leftover produce amongst Boston Organics employees, and donate any additional produce to Food for Free.
Boston Organics offers grocery add-ons including specialty chocolates, eggs, bakery goods, coffee and tea.
Service area: Seattle, SF Bay, L.A. and Orange County, Vancouver, Calgary, Vancouver Island
Service: Spud describes their benefit like this: "Organic produce and artisan groceries can be ordered and delivered in their peak freshness – providing customers with a superior tasting and highly nutrient rich product." They have a wide variety of artisan grocery items and source thier products locally. This is a company to watch.
Spud also carries eco friendly home and health products.
Service area: Phoenix AZ area and ship nationally (packging intensive shipping outside delivery area)
Service: BoxedGreens.com provides delivery to the greater Phoenix area of locally sources organic produce and grocery items. They offer season boxes of produce in 3 sizes or let you customize your own box. They will deliver nationally but this requires relatively intensive packaging to safely deliver.

Service: We are very excited about this "buying collective" which aims to reduce organic food desserts and create buying power through a grassroots membership driven organization. They carry brands like Newmans Own and Annie Chungs and a large variety of household and stapel grocery items. You will also find pet, health and gardening items at greenpolkadotbox.com.
They describe their products as being "clean" organic and free of GMO's. There is a membership fee annually that starts at $50 with an option to join a rewards program for an annual $125. This is an exciting new business model in our view and we hope to see them thrive.
Service area: nationwide, sold in some Whole Foods locations.
Service: This is a service on the edge of fresh delivery but just loved the concept and decided to include Better Ventures Back to the Roots Mushroom Kits on this list. You can order them online and get the kits delivered to your home, or buy it in some Whole Foods locations. Easy to grow fresh mushrooms in just a few days. The company was started by two young entrepreuneurs, they collect used coffee grounds from Bay area coffee shops to use as soil. The kits allow you to easily grow them indoors in your home.
